The Kaohsiung gas explosion is the most serious industrial safety and public safety incident in Taiwan in the past 30 years. It has brought us a valuable lesson in society. It is worthy for us to conduct transformation and reform in relevant regulatory standards, industrial development, government governance and social awakening. In fact, from the international experience, we can see that many countries have been through similar incidents, and profoundly studied, adjusted, through painful reflection, nurturing the consensus of sustainable development of society as a whole.
