On food safety: The perspective of Toxicology

Based on the concept that prevention is better than cure, the corresponding authorities should collaborate with academics and experts to systematically establish the monitoring process, assessment and management of potentially toxic substances in food, and conduct effective risk assessments with the public based on the health effects of scientific assessments. Risk communication should be deployed to avoid the public suffer or panic; the government should act as a food safety guardian and facilitate legal power and public pressure to back up the deterrence toward unscrupulous industry's practices and further avoid similar food safety incidents occur again.
