The United Nations in 1992 held the first World Summit on Sustainable Development, also known as the Earth Summit; it is the one of the most important conventions on the issue of sustainable development held by the institution; Taiwan's NGOs have never been absent. Over the years, in the recent three meetings, the domestic environmental NGOs engaged in the attempt to demonstrate the concept of sustainable development practiced in Taiwan and hope for international recognition.
