How to be [In] Transition: Initiate the Key Transition of Energy in Taiwan
With the Paris Agreement enters into force, RSPRC Annual Risk Analysis Report continues the discussion on the energy transition in Taiwan with a further appeal for immediate change and at the same time advances the discussion on sustainable city relevant issues following the Sustainable Development Goals adopted by the UN. However, the report reveals that the application of renewable energy in Taiwan is much insufficient than its developed peers although the aspiration for renewable energy is equally strong.

‘Air pollution and global warming’ are not only seriously affecting human health, but also further threaten the survival of mankind on earth. The energy transformation of phasing out fossil fuel and the social transformation of changing production and consumption patterns are the urgent issues we are facing. This book brings together many experts to provide an in-depth exploration of the energy transformation of Taiwan, making valuable recommendations on how to initial and advance the movement; this is a very important guide.

Energy transition is a major issue that has been under discussion in Taiwan as well as global societies in recent years in responding to climate change. Actions are always on the way, such as from where we source energy? Is it enough? What impact does it have? Such basic questions will be better answered by the rapid transformation of society and technology. How can you transform? We need to make up for “the science that should be done but was not done yet”, and we need more detailed and meticulous research and innovative knowledge to respond to the times. And this is where this book is valued!

A wrong policy with a long past is originated from people seeking profit in private interests and doing things lackadaisically to the fragile but beautiful island. It is now the moment of awakening.
